In Hawaii, we handed out festive grab-and-go kits to help our troops and their families celebrate New Year’s Eve. Each kit included 2022 glasses, treats, confetti and fun celebration ideas to bring a little holiday joy to military families. Crouch II and USO Northeast Regional President Rebecca Parkes joined ‘Fox & Friends’ to share how USO care packages can bring a little bit of home to troops stationed around the world over the holidays. Hundreds of thousands of holiday care packages were packed and sent out to our nation’s heroes last year, some as far away as Africa and Greenland. Last month, military spouses were invited to bring children 3 and under to USO Naval Base Guam for a very special USO Coffee Connections event. Recognizing that child care can be difficult to find, we decided to open this traditionally adults-only event to children — and it was so popular that we’ll be hosting another this month! Thank you for all you do!” –A military mom who is thankful for the USO’s support as her son was on his way to basic training CORPORATE PARTNERS [Bank of America logo] In December, the USO Transition team partnered with Bank of America to kick off our first-ever virtual Financial Foundations Workshop. The Bank of America team shared relatable information and provided solid guidance on improving attendees’ financial wellness. As one attendee stated: “This session was great! I enjoyed listening to the presenters, especially the budgeting portion of the program. Great program, thank you!” Bank of America has been supporting the national USO Transition program since 2019. The USO team is looking forward to continuing to increase our military community’s financial well-being with more workshops like this in 2022. Thanks to the support of Kroger, along with help and a warm welcome from USO of South Carolina volunteers, we were able to support 7,200 service members who participated in block leave with snack packs. These items ensured traveling service members had all the comfort items they needed until they finally made it home to spend time with their families. [The Mobile USO Program]( is going to be able to deliver a lot of extra goodness in 2022 and beyond as we anxiously await the newest member of the Mobile fleet – a food trailer that will help us serve up hot and healthy snacks and meals in the years to come!
