Your December 2023 Coins Online Has Arrived. Having trouble viewing this email? [View this message in your browser.]( [SHOP]( | [PRODUCT SCHEDULE]( | [CUSTOMER SERVICE]( | [LEARN]( | [NEWS]( | [ABOUT]( Coins Online December 2023 • Telling America’s Greatest Stories – One Coin at a Time Commemorative Coins Are Back! We are ecstatic to introduce two brand-new commemorative coin programs for 2024! The great thing about commemorative coins is that a portion of the proceeds are authorized to go back to the designated organizations. So if you like the coins and purchase one, you’re also supporting the organizations that tell that coin’s story and more than that, one of America’s stories. We have new commemorative coins every year (provided that Congress approves them in time for us to mint the coins) but we only sell them in the year they are minted. [Learn more about our commemorative coins past and present.]( Commemorative coins also have special introductory-pricing for a limited time, so don’t wait too long. The first commemorative coin program celebrates the life of American icon Harriet Tubman. Born a slave in 1822, Tubman freed herself in 1849 with help from the Underground Railroad network. Tubman didn’t stop once she got her freedom, she went back 13 times over the next decade to personally guide more people from slavery to freedom. In 1862, Harriet Tubman joined the Union Army as a nurse. She served in multiple roles, including as an Army scout and spy. Mark your calendars for January 4, 2024, when these special coins will be available for purchase. Check out the next Coins Online issue to learn more about our other 2024 commemorative coin program that celebrates the “Greatest Generation” and spoiler alert, it’s not about millennials*. *Who knows, millennials might just become the “Next Greatest Generation.” [2024 Harriet Tubman Silver Dollar reverse (tails side)]( 2024 Harriet Tubman Silver Dollar reverse (tails side) [Learn More]( Oh, What a Year! Looking back at the coins and medals we released this year, we had a lot of winners! The American Women Quarters™ Program is in full swing, we’ve learned some incredible stories about real American women, some we knew and some who are new, but all followed their hearts and pushed the boundaries, not only of what was acceptable, but what was possible. How many dancers in the last century were inspired by [Maria Tallchief]( story? How many future leaders looked up to [Eleanor Roosevelt]( and said “I’m going to be my generation’s Eleanor!” It's not just American women either, we released new silver medals honoring [Abraham Lincoln]( and [Ulysses S. Grant]( two men, among countless others, who helped save the Union and by extension, the United States of America. We brought back the incredibly popular [Morgan and Peace Dollars]( including a new [Reverse Proof Set]( which looks incredible up close. We also saw Liberty take new shape in the form of a [Bristlecone Pine]( and if you thought it looked good in silver, [you should see it in gold.]( I don’t want to spoil the surprises, but we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on for 2024, 2025, 2026, and beyond! Just like our coins, the future is bright. Saving the best for last, we of course want to thank you! We couldn’t do any of this without you and all our readers who have supported the United States Mint as we strive to provide the best service and experience we can for everyone who loves American coins and medals.
