If so, a job as the Associate Deputy Administrator for Business and Employee Services (Operations) with USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) might be just what you’re looking for. As the Associate Deputy Administrator, you will lead and direct the overall planning, coordination, and direction of APHIS' Plant Protection and Quarantine’s (PPQ) resource management, training, employee support, and administrative functions locally and nationally. This includes, among other things: - Ensuring PPQ business units and programs align with the implementation of APHIS’ and the Department’s strategic plans - Establishing and implementing national policies, program goals, and professional leadership supporting the PPQ mission - Evaluating the effectiveness of program operations and accomplishments, initiating modification as necessary - Developing and maintaining procedures for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the business operations of APHIS' plant health endeavors This position will be located in Raleigh, NC; Fort Collins, CO; or Riverdale, MD.
