[] [U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service] The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) is announcing additional APHIS eFile flexibilities and assistance for BRS applicants. Applicants can now submit multi-year interstate movement and import permits for plants. To do this, simply follow the same application steps for new or unsubmitted permit applications and select a proposed expiration date of up to three years from your proposed effective date. In the coming months, we will announce multi-year release permits for annual plants. We are also sharing a [Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) template]( as an optional format APHIS eFile applicants may elect to use when preparing SOPs to accompany permit applications. This template outlines topics and suggested information to include in your SOPs that describe how you will maintain organisms developed using genetic engineering to prevent their unauthorized release, spread and/or persistence in the environment. Additional BRS APHIS eFile training resources are available on the website at: [USDA APHIS | APHIS eFile Training]( Log on or create your new APHIS eFile account today to apply for BRS permits at: [APHIS eFile (usda.gov)]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Bookmark and Share]( Questions about APHIS programs and services?
