4 million women and girls are at risk — and nowhere is safe. The humanitarian crisis unfolding

4 million women and girls are at risk — and nowhere is safe. [USA for UNFPA]( The humanitarian crisis unfolding in Sudan has now eclipsed six months. Here’s what we know: - 6 million people have been forced to flee their homes. 9 out of 10 of those people displaced are women and children. - More than 100,000 women are pregnant — and urgently in need of maternal health services. 80% of hospitals in the region have shuttered their doors, and for those that remain open, there are severe shortages of lifesaving medicines and supplies. - Sexual violence is rampant. 4 million women and girls are at risk — and nowhere is safe. Reports of sexual violence have come from residential neighborhoods, displacement camps, and from the road as women and girls migrate to safety. UNFPA is providing essential sexual and reproductive health care to women and girls surviving armed conflict in Sudan thanks to support from private donors. But this crisis is only getting worse and the health, safety, and lives of women and girls remain on the line. If you’ve been waiting to give, now’s your chance to have maximum impact: We are 2x-MATCHING ALL gifts up to $150,000 to increase the impact of gifts from donors like you. [Donations 2x-Matched]( [Will you rush an emergency gift (2X-MATCHED) to women and girls in Sudan and surviving crises around the world today?]( [MAKE A GIFT (2X-MATCH)]( In many rural parts of Sudan, women and girls like Haleema must walk long distances to grind flour for bread or to collect water and other essential supplies. These daily treks leave them vulnerable to sexual violence and harassment. [Haleema]( “We used to walk long distances to grind our grain. Women and girls faced harassment along the way – we had to run fast to avoid it, often spilling most of the flour,” Haleema told our team on the ground in Sudan. Tired of the abuse, women and girls turned to UNFPA and asked for these resources to be closer to home — and thanks to your support, we delivered. We built a flour mill in Haleema’s village of Shanisha, saving her and her community time and limiting their exposure to violence. Om, Haleema’s neighbor, said, “With this new mill, we can send even the youngest person at home to grind the grains. It takes less than 5 minutes now." [Your gifts make all the difference. Make twice the impact on the lives of vulnerable women and girls in Sudan and wherever help is needed most by making a 2x-matched gift today:]( [MAKE A GIFT (2X-MATCH)]( Thank you for being there for women and girls. — USA for UNFPA [usaforunfpa.org]( | info@usaforunfpa.org | [Privacy Policy]( SENT BY USA FOR UNFPA: THE UN SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AGENCY What does UNFPA stand for?
