1 [A closed Swedish library left its door open. The community reacted with pure goodness.]( Basketball coaching legend [John Wooden]( once famously said, "The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is watching," and he has a great point. It’s one thing to do what’s right when you are afraid you’ll be punished for doing the wrong thing by an authority figure. It’s another to do the right thing because your peers will applaud you. But the highest moral good is doing what’s right when [no one is watching]( because that’s doing good for its own sake. A story out of [Gothenburg, Sweden]( shows that in that community, the patrons of its library know a little something about doing good just because it’s the right thing to do. However, somewhere between the creation of a natural habitat by nature and destruction by humans, the New Zealand dotterel—also known as the endemic tūturiwhatu—in New Zealand have adapted to the Auckland airport’s green lands for nesting and egg laying. According to [RNZ,]( there are barely over 2500 endangered tūturiwhatu left in the country and the grassy areas of the airport are proving to be a comfortable space for the dotterels to lay eggs and set up home. Even though the airport is a harbor of noise pollution, one might think that the concrete that the airport is made up of would drive any species far away from it but what is one’s loss is another’s gain and that seems to be coming true for these endangered tūturiwhatu. They learn how to form sounds and words. They learn the difference between a question and statement. They even learn the cadence of a conversation, like to pause after talking so the other person can speak. Talking to babies is so important to their development, but one mom has implemented a policy that may initially raise some eyebrows. Like [Netflix]( cheating, where one partner secretly watches the next episode of a show they had been watching with their significant other. Or perhaps even worse—when one partner eats [delicious food]( without telling their spouse. This was apparently the sin committed by wife Shelby to her husband Dylan, a married content creator duo better known online as [Shelb and Dyl](. And Dylan’s melodramatic reaction to the devastating news that she ate at his favorite Mexican food restaurant—without him— is pure relatable comedy.
