[1]( [This blooper from 'The Carol Burnett Show' is still one of the funniest outtakes in TV history]( "The Carol Burnett Show" ran from 1967 to 1978 and has been touted as one of the best television series of all time. The cast and guest stars of the show included comedic greats such as Tim Conway, Betty White, Steve Martin, Vicki Lawrence, Dick Van Dyke, Lyle Waggoner, Harvey Korman and others who went on to have long, successful comedy careers. One firm rule Carol Burnett had on her show was that the actors stay in character. She felt it was especially important not to break character during the "Family" scenes, in which the characters Ed and Eunice Higgins (a married couple) and Mama (Eunice's mother) would play host to various colorful characters in their home. "I never wanted to stop and do a retake, because I like our show to be âlive,â" she wrote in her memoir, as reported by Showbiz Cheat Sheet. "So when the âFamilyâ sketches came along, I was adamant that we never break up in those scenes, because Eunice, Ed, and Mama were, in an odd way, sacred to me. They were real people in real situations, some of which were as sad and pitiful as they were funny, and I didnât want any of us to break the fourth wall and be out of character.â It was a noble goal, and one that went right out the windowâwith Burnett leading the wayâin a "Family" sketch during the show's final season that ended with the entire cast rolling with laughter. [2]( [Adults share things teens 'aren't ready to hear,' and it's some solid advice for all ages]( No one who has ever lived to see old age has also thwarted growing older. But with age comes the gift of wisdom, along with maybe a wrinkle or two. However, passing along that hard-earned knowledge isnât always easy. After all, when weâre younger, the world seems to be much more simple. We are not yet fully aware that things never stop changingâtrends that were once the âitâ things will eventually become a source of embarrassment. Or worse ⦠come back as âretroâ or ânostalgic.â Ouch. Thatâs right, kids. Believe it or not, there will come a time when even Billie Eilish isnât cool anymore! Of course, weâre not just talking about fashion or taste in music. Hopefully, we all expand our world view after our teenage years, growing more mature, grounded and less self-absorbed. Thatâs not always the case, of course, but that is the goal. Reddit user u/Slight_Weight asked folks to share things that teens today âare not ready to hear.â Honestly, I expected to find cynical, snarky âkids today donât know anythingâ type of comments. But on the contrary, a lot of it really was tough love. And truthfully, much of the advice isnât age-specific. Theyâre just good âbe a kind humanâ reminders all around. And then other answers were just plain funny. [Read the story]( Did a friend forward this to you? [Subscribe here]( [3]( [Some babies will turn into contortionists to avoid touching grass. Here's why.]( When you see a gymnast doing the splits in midair, you know they've worked for years to train their muscles and perfect their gymnastics skills. But when you see a baby hovering in the air, legs in splits, you know there's probably a big ol' patch of grass beneath them. Grass?!? you may be thinking. Seriously? Aren't babies, the purest among usâunspoiled by the trappings of modern life and technologyânaturally drawn to the earth? Apparently not if that earth is covered in grass, nope. For them, the lawn is lava. Babiesâor at least a good portion of babiesâwill do pretty much anything to not let any part of their bodies touch grass. Viral videos have demonstrated this fact, with parents holding their wee ones over a patch of lawn and lowering them toward the ground. The way these tiny tots will twist themselves into gymnast-like positions to keep some daylight between them and the lawn is both impressive and hilarious. You would think parents were holding their kids above a pot of boiling oil, not the cool, refreshing grass. So what's happening here? Why are these babies so averse to touching grass? [4]( [People share the most hilariously out-of-touch advice given for saving money]( People have all sorts of advice on saving, and when doling it out, money experts often overlook those living paycheck to paycheck. I saw one of these experts on television recently saying people should have three separate savings accounts for their home expensesâone each for appliances, furniture and home repairs. These in addition to your emergency savings fund and likely your regular savings account. The advice, while acceptable for some, is comical for the rest of us. For even more hilarious money advice, people on Reddit came up with some doozies. Reddit user u/Salazard260 posed the question "What's the most comically out of touch 'advice' you've been given by someone wealthier?" Most of the responses were eyebrow-raising, and if you've ever been poorâwhether it be working poor or below poverty line poorâthe advice was hilarious. User blezmalfoy said they were told, "That I need to buy several apartments and rent them out. Unfortunately, he did not tell me where to get money to buy several apartments." You do have to wonder, where does one simply get money to buy multiple apartments? Maybe the money tree our parents told us didn't exist is actually in a forest of other money trees and we just don't know it. [Read the story](
