Texas's repressive anti-abortion law known as the Heartbeat Bill went into effect overnight Wednesda

[People are fighting Texas' abortion law by spamming the tip line used to target women]( Texas's repressive anti-abortion law known as the Heartbeat Bill went into effect overnight Wednesday after the Supreme Court refused to act on it by a 5-4 margin. The law bans abortions of fetuses over six weeks old. This would criminalize approximately 85% of Texas women who access abortion care because a vast majority have no idea they are pregnant after just six weeks. Thousands of people on social media are fighting back against "Texas Right to Life" by spamming the site with so many fake tips that it would be impossible to act on any legitimate claims. He advised his employee to check the customer's ID and name on the back of the card, which checked out. Even after the point-of-sale transaction went through, Shepherd still checked the next day to make sure the money was still there. It was. All $10,000 of it. According to The Gainesville Sun, a man eating at the restaurant with his wife and child had gathered the staff of 10 who were working at the restaurant on August 17 and thanked them for their hard work. Then he paid his $144 bill and added $10,000 on top of it for the employees to split. "Watching these guys get their check was almost as good as Christmas morning," Shepherd told The Sun. Polites' Instagram is filled with amazing pictures from his modeling but his sister is trolling him by dressing up her son to match his photos. Katina Behm, who is Polites' older sister, shares a great relationship with her sibling and they are always trying to prank each other. It's fair to say Behm has won this round. It all started when she struggled to get her son Augie into his plaid button-up shirt. “The image of him with the shirt undone and his bare chest exposed made me laugh because he looked like he belonged on the cover of a romance novel,” she said, reported Huffington Post. “I took a picture and then realized I bet my brother Aris has a picture just like this on his Instagram page which is filled with modeling photos.” [Read the Story]( [A visually impaired Paralympian is overjoyed when her guide proposes to her after their race]( Sprinter Keula Nidreia Pereira Semedo won't be leaving the Tokyo Paralympics with a medal, but she did get something that may be even better: an engagement ring. Semedo currently lives in Portugal but is originally from Cape Verde, the country she's represented as a Paralympian since 2005. Semedo came in fourth place in the preliminaries for the 200-meter dash for athletes in the T11 classification, meaning they have very low visual acuity and/or no light perception. To run safely, she is tethered to her running partner, Manuel Antonio Vaz da Veiga. But it looks like they're going to be tethered together for much longer than their time on the track. After the 200-meter dash was over Vaz da Veiga can be seen briefly leaving the track and then returning with a few more runners and guides. [Read the Story]( [What's the best place to be a cat? These are the most feline-friendly cities in America]( The life of a housecat is generally pretty cozy, but some cities make it easier to spoil our kitties than others. According to a new ranking of cat-friendly cities from OneVet, felines in Florida are particularly fortunate. The state boasts the honor of having three cities in the top 10, and is the only state to have multiples cities on the list. (Florida. Who knew?) The "Best U.S. Cities to Be a Cat" rankings are based on five equally-weighted factors: the number of pet-friendly rentals, number of veterinarians, number of cat cafes, number of pet stores, and number of cat adoptions in 2020 (all per 100K population). A pretty solid set of criteria, at least from a human perspective. [Read the Story]( Let's be social!
