Hello, Uproxx readers! Let’s get caught up on today. ------------------------------------------

Hello, Uproxx readers! Let’s get caught up on today. --------------------------------------------------------------- The five most interesting things: 1) The John Wick: Chapter 3 trailer dropped, and [to say it's lit is an understatement.]( The new entry in The Adventures Of John Wick Shooting People is one of our most anticipated movies of the year. With a $14 million bounty on his head, Wick is just trying to survive a New York filled with assassins (see: samurai sword fight on a motorcycle) alongside Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, and some ravenous German Shepherds. Wick even [went toe-to-toe with 7'3 Boban Marjanovic.]( May 17th can't get here soon enough. 2) Cardi B posted a fiery video to [show support for government workers who aren't getting paid]( during the shutdown. The people hit worst by the longest government shutdown in history are the hardworking employees just struggling to get by. Cardi voiced her own opinions over the shutdown and Trump while supporting the workers, saying she feels bad for the people going to work without getting paid "over a f*cking wall." [Can we get her a TV show already?]( Or at the very least, a presidency in 2020. 3) A tribute concert was held last night for Chris Cornell. The "I Am The Highway" event featured [Soundgarden reuniting for the first time since his death]( in 2017, while Dave Grohl [joined Audioslave and performed with Foo Fighters.]( Cornell's daughter also gave [a very tender performance of "Redemption Song."]( It was a very moving honor to the late artist. 4) Netflix's Bird Box is catching flack [for using real footage from a train derailment.]( The Sandra Bullock horror movie is no stranger to controversy, to the point where Netflix had to warn people not to try the "Bird Box challenge" and hurt themselves. But the latest is even more on them. It's come to light that actual footage of a train derailment that killed dozens is used in the movie. Turning tragedy into fiction is just disrespectful, but will the backlash impact the film's success at all? 5) Everyone was relieved to see Betty White trending [simply because it's her birthday.]( The actress turns 97 today, and everything had the same reaction seeing her name as a hashtag on Twitter. (Twitter now features a "Happy Birthday" message after her name, probably because all of its users freaked out for a few seconds.) --------------------------------------------------------------- Deeper dives worth your time: The Punisher Season 2 [tries to soften Frank Castle and loses its identity.]( The Netflix show is back, although no one, including him, seems to remember "Who is Frank Castle?" On The Wizrd, Future's greatest challenge might be [putting his personal evolution into his music.]( We examined how the artist must make a choice between evolving or making more of the same in his next album. The new Ghostbusters movie shouldn't ditch everything from the reboot. While the last version of the team had its issues, we look at how [totally abandoning it sours the news of the new film.]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for being an Uproxx subscriber and (obviously) feel free to share our work with your friends.
