OPERATIONAL ALERT United Cargo update to 5G implementation February 3, 2022 Dear United Cargo Custom

[United Cargo]( OPERATIONAL ALERT United Cargo update to 5G implementation February 3, 2022 Dear United Cargo Customer, I wanted to take this opportunity to update you regarding the 5G C-Band cellular service expansion and the potential interference with airline safety equipment. As I know you can appreciate, this has been a concern for the airline industry, United and our customers. Safety is our top priority and the implications of the 5G expansion could be significant. Any potential interference with aircraft landing instrumentation could result in a restriction on aircraft types and flight schedules. With the recent release of our [February schedule]( I am pleased to share that our cargo customers are, for the most part, not impacted by schedule changes. So far, the 5G implementation is primarily impacting our regional passenger jets and short-haul flights. As the issues around cellular service expansion continue, we are engaging with aircraft manufacturers to ensure each aircraft in our fleet is equipped to operate safely. The good news…every manufacturer has provided documentation ensuring support of their aircraft until March 1. In addition, the federal government and telecom companies have agreed to provide 5G “buffer zones” around airports across the country through July 5, 2022. United CEO, Scott Kirby, along with United President, Brett Hart, and our Governmental Affairs team are partnering with senior government officials to ensure that 5G can be deployed safely and without material service disruption. We will continue to update you of any relevant changes as they become available. Thanks for your continued support.
