And right now the resilient people in Yemen need you. The situation is dire. It's one of the worst I’ve experienced in my 24 years of humanitarian work—and I've worked in pretty tough places. {NAME}, this month marks the sixth year of conflict in Yemen that has destroyed the healthcare system. Malnutrition is rampant. Most people eat only once a day—just a bit of tea and bread. The Yemeni people have been through so much and now are especially vulnerable due to COVID-19. They are strong and resilient, but they need your generosity to survive. [But we cannot do this alone.]( [SEND AID TO YEMEN ]( UNHCR is on the ground providing cash assistance, mattresses, blankets and kitchen sets as well as emergency shelter kits to displaced families. Many parents have told us they are going without food to ensure their children have enough. The risk of a large-scale famine in the country has never been more acute. Tens of thousands are already living in famine-like conditions, with a staggering 5 million more just one step away from it. Displaced families are 4 times more at risk of famine than the rest of the Yemeni population. This is why with your help, we are prioritizing them in our response.
