This has to stop, please help us today [UNHCR The UN refugee Agency]( [Donate now]( [We need your help to prevent families like this mother and daughter being forced to take these terrible risks]( We need your help to prevent families like this mother and daughter being forced to take these terrible risks. @Herika Martinez/©Ritzau Scanpix Dear {NAME} You may have seen the devastating image of Oscar Alberto and his 23-month-old daughter Valeria who were fleeing El Salvador. As someone who cares about refugees, I am sure that your thoughts are with their family and the many others like them. UNHCR is working tirelessly to help these families, but we can’t do this without the support of people like you. [Please donate today]( The tragedy of Oscar Alberto and Valeria is a shocking reminder of the desperation that forces people to take perilous journeys to reach safety. In the absence of safe, efficient and humane pathways for families to reach safety protection, these tragedies will keep happening. This is why UNHCR is urgently increasing its efforts on numerous fronts including to: - Expand infrastructure capacity at all ports of entry and border stations - Improve reception conditions, including child-friendly spaces - Provide specialist care to meet humanitarian needs including medical and psycho-social support, child welfare and care for survivors of violence and trauma The faster we act, the quicker we can prevent further tragedy. Please give your gift today. Thank you.
