This means that working Mississippians seeking abortions have to deal with additional barriers in an already hostile environment toward reproductive health. On top of that, both of Mississippi’s current U.S. Senators signed on to Marco Rubio’s resolution to celebrate (!) the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Even radical Republicans like Rick Scott didn’t sign on to this bill that attempts to paint a devastating blow to our reproductive rights as some sort of victory. We need comprehensive, federal legislation that protects reproductive care – including abortion, IVF treatment, and contraception – no matter your zip code.
