adfsfBGsdkgjhafs;kldgheti;hfdhhhh..... What’s up {NAME} family? It’s me Tobsdkgjhafs;kldgheti;hfdhhhh Whoops. Sorry. I’ve got keratin-covered hooves instead of five fingers, so this typing thing is taking a while to figure out. But anyway, it’s me! Tobasco, your favorite Eastern Mountain Bongo stopping by to say “hey!” 🦌 I hear a lot of my fans have been asking about me, so decided to sneak away from the herd to let you know what I’ve been up to. For those of you who don’t know, I had a tough start to life and was hand raised by my keepers. I miss the big warm bottles they gave me 🍼, but all these veggies and hay are growing on me. 🥕🌾 Speaking of growing, I’m getting pretty big. My keepers say I'm weighing in at 116 lbs! But that’s nothing. Someday I’ll tip the scales at 800 lbs! At first, I missed my keepers, but now I love hanging out with the rest of the Bongo herd. My bestie is Paprika. We love playing chase and hanging out. Once we’re worn out the adults in the herd clean us up with their tounges! Me and the rest of the herd are safe and sound at Tanganyika, but our cousins who live in Africa aren’t so lucky. Eastern Mountain Bongo are critically endangered. But here’s some good news: eighteen bongos from U.S. zoos were sent to the Mt. Kenya Wildlife Conservancy in 2004. 🌍 These animals were used to establish a breeding herd for the possible release of future generation into the wild. 🌿 Next time you’re at the park, make sure you come say hi! Trotting off for now, Tobasco 🌶️ P.S. - If you’re looking for a way to support Bongos and other endangered wildlife, get your [tickets for Twilight Tour](, our annual fundraiser for our non-profit Tanganyika Wildlife Foundation.
