We strive, often tirelessly, to be “fixed” and “whole.” But what our hearts, minds, and bodies really need from us are safety, loving awareness, and compassion. Things We're Excited About.   Registration is officially open for Between the Bells. We are excited to support high schools across the U.S. by bringing conversations and mental health resources into their classrooms through our Between the Bells program. Last year we helped 100 schools get resources to over 72,000 high school students and we can’t wait to let more students know that they are not alone and that help is out there. Registration for the 2024-2025 school year opens today and closes on September 18th. If you already know you’d like to register for the program you can do so [here](. If you’d like to learn more about the program click the button below. [LEARN MORE](   Suicide Prevention Trainings. Throughout the next few months, we are hosting several QPR Suicide Prevention Trainings starting as soon as August 26th. For just $20, this virtual training will equip you to be prepared in a moment of crisis. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer—the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. It is a heartache that many, if not most, experience. It can blossom from the closing of a chapter, the realization that a dream may never come to fruition, or the loss of someone or something—even a belief—that we held dear. [Hearing Hope in the Birdsong: DBT & Healing From PTSD]( By Courtenay Jamieson Over three years down the track and four therapists later, and I can surprisingly, happily say that that is not the case. I’ve heard it repeated many times, but it is so true—just like breaking a bone requires time to heal, so does mental trauma. [You Aren’t The Only One Struggling]( By Carrie Grebe I began having deep, meaningful conversations with others whom I barely knew about mental health and the struggle to stay alive. It was life-altering. I stopped looking at everyone and thinking how lucky they were and started wondering what invisible burden they were also carrying. [Calm, Cool, and Collected]( By Jake Vail I know that I might come off as difficult if I begin to verbalize what I know is setting off my anxiety, which in my case tends to be sound-related. In actuality, I am trying to take care of my mental health by asking those close to me to be mindful of the fact that I am struggling.
