From yourself and from others. When you’re struggling, reach for grace and compassion. When the season you’re in feels never-ending and overwhelming, create pockets to pause and be present. You can’t bully yourself into healing. Things We're Excited About.   One is one too many. TWLOHA’s biggest initiative of the year launches on August 13th in honor of Suicide Prevention Month in September. TWLOHA believes that losing just one person to suicide is too many. People need to know that they are not alone, that help exists, and that hope is possible when we are given the chance to heal. Whether you’ve struggled with thoughts of suicide, have attempted, have lost someone to this epidemic, or maybe you just simply care—TWLOHA is inviting you to take actions that have the potential to change the trajectory of someone’s existence (yours included). [STAY TUNED](   Your story matters. Our plans for Suicide Prevention Month are already in motion, and we need your voice to help us remind others that they are not fighting alone. We’re looking for video of you finishing the phrase, “I’m alive because…” Please film in a well-lit area with no distractions, film vertically, and aim for 15 seconds or less. Videos can be sent to social@twloha.com! I remember my body felt alive in all the wrong ways. I threw myself on the ground, squirmed, and sobbed uncontrollably while struggling to catch my breath. [Calm, Cool, and Collected]( By Jake Vail It took some time before I was regularly attending therapy sessions and learned that what I was experiencing were actually anxiety attacks. Unfortunately, this was after years of struggling. [The Post-Therapy Treat]( By Grace Harley I went to therapy and then I got a coffee. Even during the Fall 2020 semester, with the pandemic in full swing, I would attend therapy over Zoom and follow it up with a trip to the coffee shop on campus as a reward. [What To Do When The World Is On Fire]( By Joél Leon Change can feel chaotic. Disruptive. And so we will reach for the things closest to us to either heal us or harm us to distract us from the feelings we do not want to feel.
