[An Honest Approach to Simplifying Corporate Income Taxes](
Dean Baker, Truthout: The Republicans are trying to pitch their tax-cut plan as being a major step toward simplifying the tax code, but it is not clear that there will be much simplification. However, it is possible to envision a change to the tax code that would genuinely simplify the system and get to a simplified corporate income tax system that raises the same amount of revenue with much less waste.

Maria Silvestri, Socialist Worker: In a case that put a national spotlight on police sexual assault, two New York City cops are facing charges of raping a handcuffed 18-year-old woman. These crimes often go unreported by victims who are understandably afraid of police retaliation. We must stand by victims of police assault and demand justice, showing we will not let these cases be swept away.

[What Real Tax Reform Could Look Like](
Olivia Alperstein, OtherWords: Our system is rigged to favor the richest, so tax reform is key to un-rigging the economy. But the latest GOP tax plan is a big wet kiss for the wealthiest Americans. It's time for us to un-rig the tax system so working families don't continue to pay the price for not being wealthy.

[For Women Restaurant Workers, Sexual Harassment Starts With the Day You're Hired](
Ursula Buffay, In These Times: Women working in the restaurant industry face sexual harassment from employers, coworkers and customers. As rampant as sexually inappropriate behavior is, there is also a severe shortage of private spaces in which that behavior has the opportunity to rise to full-fledged assault, leaving women restaurant workers in a gray area with no recourse for justice.
