Now, don’t get me wrong, I know his heart’s in the right place... It’s just that I’m a planner, and I ALWAYS overprepare, so when he doesn’t give me warning that we’re about to do something special… I guess it throws my Type A personality out of whack. But that was until last year, because even I had to admit that he planned the perfect surprise for me. It was on Wife Appreciation Day—which I had never even heard of until last year. He told me we were going out to a fancy dinner at our favorite restaurant… (I thought THAT was the surprise.) But at the end, he pulled out the most beautiful gift box… and on the inside, the most beautiful gift. Ugh, I still get goosebumps when I think about that moment. The watch he’d picked was stunning—flawless in every way. But the engraving was the real star. He chose a little inside joke between the two of us that never fails to make me smile. Everything about that surprise was incredible. In fact, I’m actually writing to personally thank Treehut for helping create one of the sweetest moments in my life—you guys are amazing! It’s so great to hear stories like this from our community! If you missed Wife Appreciation Day this year, don’t get down. We believe everyday is a fantastic day to show appreciation for the wonderful women in your life, whether it’s a sister, mother, friend, or wife. (And don’t forget yourself, of course!) All rights reserved    Our Story - "One touch of nature makes the whole world kin." - William Shakespeare Welcome to Treehut. My name is Julia, and together with my husband Joh, we’re the co-founders this unlikely venture - a family-owned small business that we operate here in beautiful San Francisco, California. It all started as an escape plan. We were both working in the corporate world, doing well for ourselves but always daydreaming about chasing an adventure. It wasn’t until a trip to Bali that we understood what that adventure could be. In Bali, there is a certain spontaneity in the adventures of daily life. Everything is rooted in family, community, and nature - exactly the way we think life should be. Luxury brands aren’t a thing in Bali. Instead, we were struck by the simple, effortless beauty created by the artisans. The love for their craft, the joy in their traditions, the appreciation for natural materials - This was the seed of inspiration for Treehut. We came home with a plan to bring Bali with us, in whatever small way we could. We started with watches. We wanted to create beautiful gifts that could represent the unique essence of the love and bond between two people. With no two reclaimed woodgrains alike, we also wanted to let our customers add special colour details and intimate engravings, truly making a one-of-a-kind memento to cherish forever. In the early days we operated within a 700 square-foot house. I engraved our watches myself using borrowed tools while Joh biked back-and-forth to the post office with shipments. The marketing team worked out of my Mom’s bedroom. It was cozy and crazy, but slowly we began to feel the spirit we wanted to create taking shape in our little company. Today we’re 20 people operating in an 8000-square foot space that our tripod Yorkie Cha-Cha and future CEO Baby Bruce help to fill with life, laughter and love, reminding us of what really matters most. All we wanted was to create something simple and elegant with a splash of joy. A unique rhythm of our own. A shelter where people are brought closer together and love grows. Our dream has been made possible by other dreamers like you. From our hearts, thank you. ‌
