With 325 days until expiration, 10,200 options traded compared to a prior open interest of 134, for a 76-fold rise in volume on the trade. The buyer of the calls paid $1.60 to make the bullish bet. » [FULL STORY]( IN OTHER NEWS ⢠[Pending Home Sales Rise in January]( Signed contracts for existing homes for sale rose 8.1 percent in January compared to December, according to the National Association of Realtors. Thatâs the second straight month of gains, but it may prove short-lived as interest rates have started to trend higher again. ⢠[Rents on Track to Fall Amid Rising Apartment Supply]( The past six months have shown a 3.5 percent decline in rents from new leases nationwide. It is the first time in five years that thereâs been a continual drop for six months. The drop comes as more supplies of apartment units are coming onto the market, which may further weaken the case for rising rents. ⢠[China Approves New Coal Plants]( China continues to grow its power generation needs with coal-fired plants. The final data for 2022 shows that the country opened the most number of plants since 2015, a pace of about two per week on average. Chinaâs emissions are double those of the United States, despite promises to cut back. ⢠[Pfizer Discussing Seagen Acquisition]( Pfizer (PFE) is in discussions to acquire Seagen (SGEN), a biotech company focused on cancer treatments.
