By parking cash overnight with the Federal Reserve. In a process known as a reverse repo, banks are lending out $2.3 trillion overnight to the Fed. And that overnight rate works out to about $100 million per day thanks to a 1.55 percent rate. And that’s before excess reserves also collect interest at the Fed. With interest rates continuing to rise, chances are financial companies will continue to benefit operationally, which may also help their share prices in the coming months.
