Good morning. Wednesday’s inflation numbers came in at a 15 year high... It’s the monthly jobs numbers today and they’re not going to be pretty and will be possibly the tip of the iceberg as we head into May. [Trading Tips] Good morning. Wednesday’s inflation numbers came in at a 15 year high. But beyond the headlines, core inflation numbers have started to show a slowdown, with a rise of 0.2 percent from August. It’s not a reversal, but a still-hidden sign that inflation may be moderating. The bond market picked up on the news, with yields ticking down slightly. If that’s the case, then many of the fears impacting the market right now may go away. That could explain part of Thursday’s rally, on top of the debt ceiling delay to December. While we’re not out of the woods yet on the labor market, declining inflation expectations can also delay any change in monetary policy that could truly lead to a big round of fear in the market. If anything, it’s just one more sign that the recent volatility has been seasonal, and that markets are setting up nicely for a year-end rally.
