[TradingGods.net Logo]      ****Advertisement*****  *****Advertisement*****   Dear Trading God Friend  U.S. stocks hit new highs on Trump trade tweet. The U.S. stock market jumped to record highs Thursday after President Trump said his administration is "very close" to a China trade deal. All of Wall Street's major indices raced to record highs on Thursday before paring gains later in the session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DIA) rose 220.62 points, or 0.8%, to 28,131.92. The blue-chip had risen more than 300 points through the early morning session. The large-cap S&P 500 Index (SPY) climbed 0.9% to 3,168.55. Most sectors reported gains, with energy and financials leading the pack. Meanwhile, the technology-focused Nasdaq Composite Index (QQQ) rallied 0.7% to 8,717.32. A measure of implied volatility known as the CBOE VIX (VXX) declined sharply on Thursday, reaching a session low of 13.60. The so-called "fear index" eventually settled down 7.9% at 13.80. VIX trades on a scale of 1-100 where anything below 20 signals complacency in the market. President Trump tweeted Thursday that the United States is "getting very close to a big deal with China." "They want it, and so do we!" he said. Trump's comments came after The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. could delay additional tariffs on Chinese goods. However, Trump's top economic adviser Larry Kudlow said those additional charges were "still on the table." In economic data, U.S. initial jobless claims spiked to a multi-year high last week, although the gains were largely attributed to seasonal influences tied to Thanksgiving. The number of Americans filing for first-time unemployment benefits increased by 49,000 to a seasonally adjusted 252,000 for the week ended Dec. 5, the Department of Labor reported Thursday. The Final Word: U.S.-China trade talks will dictate investor sentiment heading into the new year. It remains to be seen whether both sides can finalize a 'phase one' deal before January. We'll talk soon,  Dan  Dan The Trading God                             *****Advertisement*****                                   *****Advertisement*****       [Ridgeline Media Group LLC BBB Business Review]( Disclaimer: The content included herein is for educational and informational purposes only, and readers agree to TradingGods.net [Disclaimer,]( [Terms of Use,]( [Privacy Policy]( before accessing or using this or any other publication by TradingGods.net or Ridgeline Media Group, LLC. Ridgeline Media Group, LLC does not endorse any products that may be advertised in this email.  If you no longer wish to receive our emails, click the link below: [Unsubscribe](  Ridgeline Media Group LLC 70 SW Century Drive Suite 100-148 Bend, Oregon 97702 United States Media Group, LLC/html
