[Click here for instant access.]( *****Advertisement***** Dear Trading God Friend, Stocks finish higher after back-and-forth session; Trump’s tariff policies remain in focus. U.S. stocks closed higher after a back-and-forth session on Thursday, as broad gains in utilities, healthcare and consumer staples drove the major indexes to positive territory. The large-cap S&P 500 Index (NYSEARCA:SPY) rose 0.5% to finish at 2,738.97. Ten of 11 sectors contributed to the rally, led by utilities, health and consumer stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (NYSEARCA:DIA) added 93.85 points, or 0.4%, to 24,895.21. Meanwhile, the technology-driven Nasdaq Composite Index (NYSEARCA:QQQ) rose 0.4% to 7,427.95. A measure of [30-day volatilit](y known as the CBOE VIX (NYSEARCA:VXX) declined sharply on Thursday, touching an intraday low of 14.91. It would later pare losses to finish down 6.9% at 16.54. The so-called “fear index” has been slowly returning to levels we’ve grown accustomed to over the past few years, but remains well above recent lows in the single digits. President Donald Trump signed an order on Thursday to move ahead with protectionist policies aimed at lowering America’s trade deficit with the rest of the world. With the stroke of a pen, Trump imposed duties of 25% and 10% on steel and aluminum products, respectively. Canada and Mexico could be spared the new tariffs if they agree to swiftly pass a new NAFTA accord. The Final Word: We haven’t seen the end of volatility on Wall Street. With trade concerns in focus, investors will try to shift their attention back to monetary policy in the coming weeks as the Federal Reserve gets set to raise interest rates for the first time since December. The VIX Trader quarterly sale is coming up March 23-25! Mark your calendar and don’t miss out. Spots will be extremely limited. We'll talk soon. Sincerely, Dan, The Trading God dan@tradinggods.net []( *****Advertisement***** [The No. 1 Stock to Buy Right Now]( Wall Street legend Paul Mampilly just revealed his No. 1 investment for 2018 ... a tech stock he says is about to hand those who act fast the [opportunity to make a lifetime's worth of gains in just months.]( *****Advertisement***** [Ridgeline Media Group LLC BBB Business Review]( Disclaimer: The content included herein is for educational and informational purposes only, and readers agree to TradingGods.net [Disclaimer,]( [Terms of Use,]( [Privacy Policy]( before accessing or using this or any other publication by TradingGods.net or Ridgeline Media Group, LLC.
