VIX closed down 10.2% on Friday to close at 9.42, close to all time lows. If the S&P 500 gains in December, it will be the first time in history that the index posted gains in every month of the year. VIX closed near all time lows on Friday as the euphoria continues. The S&P 500 is up almost 20% for the year while VIX is solidly down, nearly 30%, in spite of a few weak rally attempts. Greed is rampant and many advisors are predicting more volatility ahead as the Fed continues raising interest rates. Plus, nobody has been talking about inflation, but it's quite likely in the cards after almost ten years of ultra-low interest rates. The last word: Good times will roll through New Year's Day.
