Get Ready for More Volatility This Week Stocks ended their three-week winning streak with the S&P 50

Get Ready for More Volatility This Week Stocks ended their three-week winning streak with the S&P 500 falling 1.4% last week The main culprit seemed to be uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve as opposed to concerns about the war in Ukraine or Shanghai's omicron outbreak. At Options Income Blueprint, we closed one position last week at a small profit. In any market, but especially in a market like this, it is important to follow my No. 1 rule: Preserve capital. In adhering to this rule, I am willing to take smaller profits when necessary to avoid being assigned or having to roll a position if I don’t like the way a stock is trading. That’s not to say all our profits have been small. Quite the contrary. So far this year, we’ve booked 19 wins in a row and our year-to-date cash total is $1,302 for one contract sold. This week, expect investors to be hyper focused on earnings reports from the major banks. If their forecasts disappoint, we could be in for a wild ride. But I’ll continue to look for opportunities to take advantage of market volatility by selling options. In the latest Options Income Blueprint Weekly Income Report, I discuss last week's trades and the basics of managing an income portfolio, including why accepting shares is integral to put sellers’ success.
