Banks are tightening up the credit. Businesses canât borrow as much money. And their rate of return must be far higher since rates are now close to 6%. The current prime rate is 8%. As a result, investors are going to demand cash flow. They want certainty. After all, they donât want to own shares in an unprofitable business with lots of debt. So, those companies with lots of cash flow and safe growth prospects are likely to perform better than those tech startups that saw their valuations skyrocketed in the last decade.
