We're helping folks across the country get outdoors Supporter ID: 3362181 Member Status: Pending Suggested Action: [Give Now]( [Trust for Public Land]( Hi Friend, As we gear up for National Get Outdoors Day, we wanted to remind you of the powerful work we do together to help folks get outdoors. With Trust for Public Land member support, we've already created thousands of miles of rural and urban trails, where joggers and cyclists share the route with dog walkers and kids on scooters and families with strollers. Between now and 2025, we're on track to establish new trails in 50 communities across the nation, if our resources continue to support this incredible work. We've also created 517 parks, ranging from neighborhood parks to national parks, all in service of our goal to put a park within a 10-minute walk of every American. So far, our work has helped put 9 million people across the United States within that 10-minute walk, but there's a lot of work to be done. More than 100 million people across America—a third of us—still don’t have a park within a 10-minute walk of home. Your support is critically needed to continue our work in communities where parks and public lands are needed most — connecting everyone to the benefits and joys of the outdoors. [Your first gift today will help create the next trail and the next park, so everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, on this special day and beyond.]( [GIVE NOW]( [GIVE NOW]( A great example of one of the 50 trail projects we're working on is the Long Island Greenway in New York. From Montauk to Manhattan, this nearly 200-mile trail will connect millions of New Yorkers to each other, to nature, and to the 750-mile Empire State Trail. When complete, this will be a safe and trusted route for commuters and connect 27 communities to the outdoors. It will be a place where memories are made, like when parents teach their kids to ride a bike. Trust for Public Land is leading the development of this trail along with many local partners and community members. And while construction is slated to begin in 2025, more funding is needed to make the full trail a reality. The fact of the matter is, we can't take on ambitious projects like this without you. [Will you power our movement to use outdoor experiences to improve mental and physical health, strengthen communities, and preserve our beloved green spaces with a gift today?]( Trails like the Long Island Greenway make it easier for everyone to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of nature, even if you live in a concrete jungle. They provide safe and accessible pathways for people of all ages and abilities to connect with the great outdoors, promoting physical activity and well-being while building a strong sense of community. [GIVE NOW]( [GIVE NOW]( Add parks, Community Schoolyards, and other initiatives to those 50 trails we mentioned, and we've got 300+ projects actively in the works. Across the country, these projects can protect and improve tens of thousands of acres of land, but we can only be as ambitious and effective as our resources allow. National Get Outdoors Day is this Saturday, and we want to ensure that we all have access to public lands for generations to come.
