Ritchie and I got right to work to hold George Santos accountable. ‌‌ [Dan Goldman headshot]( Hi {NAME} — Earlier this month, Ritchie and I proudly took our oath of office as members of Congress. We pledged to defend the Constitution and faithfully discharge the duties of office — and we take that oath very seriously. It was abundantly clear, however, that one newly-elected member could simply not be trusted to fulfill this sacred oath. That person is George Santos — and Ritchie and I didn’t wait a second to hold him accountable for his web of lies that he used to defraud the voters who elected him. [{NAME}, will you split a donation of any amount between my campaign and Ritchie’s to help support our work defending our democracy by holding George Santos and MAGA Republicans accountable ahead of Tuesday’s critical end-of-month fundraising deadline?]( Three weeks ago, Ritchie and I walked into Mr. Santos’s office and handed him a copy of an official complaint we filed with the House Ethics Committee, which calls for a full investigation into his financial disclosures, including whether highly suspicious loans Santos made to his own campaign in excess of $700,000 violated federal law. But simply following the law isn’t sufficient for members of Congress. So we sought to create a solution to the question on everyone’s mind: don’t voters deserve to know the truth about who they’re voting for? So that same week, we introduced the Stop Another Non-Truthful Office Seeker (SANTOS) Act to ensure that no one can ever defraud voters like George Santos did. The SANTOS Act would require that candidates for Congress disclose their education, employment history, and military service under penalty of a fine or jail time for lying. {NAME}, it’s no secret that our fight faces long odds now that MAGA Republicans like Kevin McCarthy are in the majority. But we won’t give up, because George Santos simply doesn’t belong in Congress — and if the other side won’t hold him accountable, Ritchie and I won’t wait around for them. [The American people don’t just deserve answers — they deserve accountability. {NAME}, will you split $10 or any amount that’s meaningful to you between me and Ritchie to power our fight for democracy and the rule of law? Your support is essential to our efforts, and any amount you can give before Tuesday’s end-of-month deadline will make a difference. »]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your split donation between Dan Goldman and Ritchie Torres will go through immediately: [CONTRIBUTE $10 »]( [CONTRIBUTE $15 »]( [Or a custom donation »]( Thank you for your critical support. — Dan Paid for by Torres For Congress [PO Box 580303, Bronx, NY 10458](#) [www.torres.nyc](#) Ritchie Torres represents the future of the Democratic Party. Raised by a single mother in public housing, Ritchie personally understands the hardships that working families endure. At age 25, Ritchie made history as the youngest elected official to serve on the New York City Council. He fought tirelessly for the working families of The Bronx, and now, he's fighting for those families and for progressive values in Congress. He is the first openly gay Afro Latino ever elected to Congress. Ritchie is a champion for progressive policies to fight poverty and to improve the lives of families just like the one he was raised in. {NAME}, please, consider making a [one-time contribution by clicking here](.
