2022 Wrapped

This life-saving legislation deepens the federal government's role in fire safety. I was also honored to introduce The Stable Families Act to prevent the most vulnerable tenants from the destabilizing effects of eviction. LGBTQ+ RIGHTS I had the honor of presiding over the House passage of the Respect for Marriage Act, which protects the right to marriage regardless of race and sex. Together with my House Democratic colleagues, I also introduced the Protecting LGBTQ Youth Act, the LGBTQ Business Equal Credit Enforcement and Investment Act, and led the effort to urge the Department of Health and Human Services to collect data on how the COVID-19 virus is impacting LGBTQ+ individuals. [CONTRIBUTE $3 »]( GUN CONTROL We shouldn't have to rely on social media to alert us to active shooters. That's why I voted for the Active Shooter Alert Act to give law enforcement the capability to send out AMBER Alert-like messages to warn communities during these kinds of emergencies. REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS Abortion access is banned in at least 13 states. Now, extremist Republicans want to stop women from crossing state lines to obtain an abortion. We must protect access to safe reproductive care, so in the wake of the fall of Roe, I voted for the Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act.
