Hi {NAME}! Wanna know ‘yung sakit ng copywriters, lalo ‘yung newbies? We are afraid to make mistakes. Because of this, we try so hard to stick to the templates na una nating natutunan gamitin. Okay naman ‘yung templates. The problem is if you become overly reliant on it to the point na you can’t write unless you have a template to use. If that’s the case for you… How would you become a successful copywriter if you couldn’t get past it, ‘di ba? No wonder you experience writer’s block a lot. Normal naman mablagko talaga minsan, Pero ‘wag naman palagi. HAHA! Lalo kung ito na ‘yung bread and butter mo. So tonight, I’ll share with you this simple “hack” to lessen your time staring at a blinking cursor, and be able to write practically anything under the sun. Gusto mo ba ‘yun, {NAME}? Then, use correlation. This is your secret weapon if you understand well how to make it work for you. “Ano ‘yan, Darwin?” Simply put, correlation in copywriting is linking seemingly unrelated ideas to create an engaging sales copy that resonates with the audience. Dito mo magagamit ‘yung creativity and imagination mo. For better understanding, here’s an example: You’re selling a copywriting course in 2020. 1st idea: Copywriting 2nd idea: Pandemic At a glance, wala naman silang connection sa isa’t isa, ‘di ba? Pero ‘pag ginamit mo na ‘yung angle na it’s no longer safe to commute to work because you never know when you’d contract the virus… Pati ‘yung if only you could stay at the comfort of your home and earn money for your loved ones… After that, insert mo naman 'yung copywriting course mo, and how you can make a lot of money through it without leaving your house… Enumerate your offer and whatnot… Then by the end of the copy, persuade them to buy. Voila! May sales copy ka na. HAHA! Gets na ba? The good thing about using correlation is… You can keep writing copy na relevant pa rin kahit may binebenta ka na para sa isang specific market lang. Like with "pandemic", kung ginamit mo ‘yung angle na ‘to nung 2020… Lahat ng employees makaka-relate kasi lahat tayo na-experience ‘yung uncertainty that time. So dun pa lang, may common ground na. Then, if you came across that type of copy ‘tapos you were looking for a work-from-home job… ‘Di ba, sobrang “perfect timing”? HAHA! Ang tricky part lang sa paggamit ng correlation is you have to get the hang of it… Especially when you’re used to following templates word for word. But once you do, game-changer talaga siya. :) Now, {NAME}, I have an assignment for you. Think of two unrelated words or ideas… Use correlation and write a copy out of them. Then, share your insights with me — what you thought before, during, and after writing the copy. Again, don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Copywriting is a process so normal lang magkamali. We’re not after “perfect” naman... All you need is a “decent” copy and you’re good to go. :) Let me know if this helps! Happy weekend, {NAME}! Rooting for you, Mark Darwin Balaswit Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( Top Dog Copywriter, Barangay Commonwealth, 1121 Quezon City, Philippines
