The other night, my wife and I watched this movie and we didn’t expect that the story would be like that. Kala ko the movie would have a lot of action in it kaso… It was about a guy whose heart was broken by a girl he loved so much. 😅 Maganda naman ‘yung movie. It was just that… Sobrang layo sa expectation namin. 😂 I won’t tell you what this movie is and I’ll limit what I’ll say in this email para hindi ka naman ma-spoil so don’t worry. Anyways, eto kasi ‘yung nangyari sa movie: The guy basically did everything he could for the girl. He was there when she needed him. Even when she thought she was alone, he was out there doing stuff for her to the point of even risking his life just to keep her safe… several times! May initiative. I’d say he’s a great guy. Not the perfect one – as you will see in the movie should you watch it – pero you could really say that he loved her… so much. Now, let’s fast forward to after their biggest crisis was over. They planned to get away from everyone and everything and just live the rest of their lives in peace. Just the two of them. The guy thought (actually, ako din) that they were already on their way to where they’ll stay for good. However… The girl planned it all out pala. When they reached a [SPOILER], iniwan na lang ni girl si guy. WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATIONS. She even tried to kill him. Literally. Ayun. He never saw her ever again. It was sad. But what’s even sadder was that… The guy was never the same again. Even the person (who used to be) closest to him didn’t recognize him and you’d even notice na parang malayo na ‘yung loob n’ya sa guy. Ayun. He became the biggest and baddest villain for decades… until the day he died. (For those who’ll try to correct me, I know "grammatically wrong" ‘yung baddest. But there’s no better word to describe him. HAHA!) I don’t know how and why that happened. Was it simply because he was heartbroken and the only person he loved left him hanging? Or was it because the reason she left remained a mystery to him forever and it cost him his sanity? Hindi ko talaga alam. Now, I’m not saying that it was the girl’s fault. She had her reasons which weren’t crystal clear in the movie. (Feeling ko na-gets ko naman pero baka mali pala ako. HAHA!) Pero you can leave naman without destroying another person’s life. Though responsibility naman kasi ni guy na ayusin ‘yung buhay n’ya and mag-move on. HAHA! Ewan ko ba. Parehong messed up. BUT. I’m not here to discuss love-life-related issues. 😂🤣 There are copywriting lessons here that you might have missed kasi sobrang gigil ka na sa kanilang dalawa. 😅 Lesson #1: Mystery in marketing is super effective. Remember this line above? Or was it because the reason she left remained a mystery to him forever and it cost him his sanity? Well… It’s simply because knowing about something but not knowing about everything messes up your brain. Have you ever experienced your friend tell you something tapos biglang nagbago ‘yung isip and ayaw n’ya na lang pala sabihin? "Alam mo… Hmmm… ‘Wag na nga lang." Nakakainis, ‘di ba? HAHAHA! In the movie: The guy knew that she left him but he didn’t know why. Again, he knew something but he didn’t know everything. How to apply in copywriting: Tell them something without telling them everything. Usually applied in headlines to catch their attention and make them want to read more and bullets to entice them with concealed information and make them want to know what it is by buying your product. Samples: (HINT: Headlines and bullets can be very similar in nature and writing so you can treat each sample as either a headline or bullet.) - How I made P161,500 in just 5 days by writing 10 super simple emails only - Why a highly-paid mechanical engineer quit his job to become a copywriter - Learn how to write copy in 25 minutes or less even if you’ve never written copy before. (My students are charging P1,000 and up per copy.) Tell them just enough to make them curious. Lesson #2: Don’t put your faith in the wrong person. The guy in the movie went into a downward spiral just because he invested everything he’s got in someone who apparently can give him up any time she wanted to. How to apply as a copywriter: As a copywriter, we invest in online courses and programs because we need to upskill and grow. Para hindi din mapag-iwanan ng AI. HAHA! I haven’t seen a successful copywriter na once lang nag-aral ng copywriting and then ‘yun na ‘yun. Ako mismo nag-iinvest pa din hanggang ngayon sa copywriting courses. That being said… I suggest choosing your copywriting mentors wisely. Time, effort, and money ‘yung pwedeng masayang sa’yo kasi if ever. Now… Baka iniisip mo na I’m implying na ako lang ‘yung copywriting mentor na dapat mong pag invest-an ah? HAHA! Nope. Wala nga akong naka-open na program ngayon eh. 😅 Instead… Let me introduce you to Raf Marabut, founder of the Copywriting Dojo – a community of copywriters and aspiring copywriters with 37,600+ members and counting I’m not one of his students pero I’ve heard a lot of great things about him and his trainings. In fact, ang dami na din n’yang natulungan na newbie din sa copywriting before – nasa 1000s na if you combine his students from his paid and free trainings. Anyways… He’s going to conduct a FREE Webinar on Thursday @ 7PM where he will teach you: "How to Make a ‘More Than Decent’ Income as a Freelance Copywriter" I’m sharing this with you kasi ang daming nagtatanong lately how to become a copywriter pero wala naman akong time mag-webinar and wala naman akong course that’s available right now (kasi ayoko muna tumanggap ng students). And I think this is the best thing I can do for you at the moment – share a FREE training from someone I trust. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
