Hi {NAME}! Ever wondered if there’s a specific requirement before one can be called a copywrite

Hi {NAME}! Ever wondered if there’s a specific requirement before one can be called a copywriter? I was like that, too. Imagine, I was a Mechanical Engineering graduate. Cum laude pa nga. If we’d ever ask my old self where I’d be in 10 years… The answer would never even come close to where I’m currently at, career-wise. Hindi nga ako aware before na may copywriting pala, let alone na may pera pala rito. HAHA! Kaya gets ko ‘yung nag-email nito sa’kin: “Ні, I really want to start copywriting and offer it as a service... But, I don't have a creative mind. I always think there's no content I can give and that there's nothing people will learn from me... What do you advise I do? Thank you…” I wanna share my insights on this. First, the mere fact you “really want to start copywriting and offer it as a service” is enough to get you started. We’re prone to overthinking talaga. This is the culprit to having so many “whatifs” and “could’ve beens” in our lives. It’s better to fail at something knowing you did your best despite the odds, than deciding you’re not cut out for it without even trying it out. Kaya everytime you think you can’t do something, I suggest you practice telling yourself, “What if it works out?”, instead. Kasi what if it does talaga and the only thing that’s stopping you from achieving it is what you keep telling yourself? Sayang, ‘di ba? So to this sender and to you who’s hesitating to pursue whatever goals you have because of whatever reason, I hope you don’t give up something that piques your interest just because your mind kept telling you that you can’t. Challenge it and prove you can. “But, I don't have a creative mind.” Well, while this may be a good thing to have as a writer, This is NOT the only thing you need to be a copywriter. Your research and analytical skills can help you craft compelling copy. But of course, your copywriting skills play the most important role here. This being a skill means it can be learned. So if you can think, which you definitely can, you can become a copywriter. 😊 “I always think there's no content I can give and that there's nothing people will learn from me... What do you advise I do?” My question here is, what made you think “that there's nothing people will learn” from you? But apparently, I was wrong. Meron palang mga madali lang sa’kin na mahirap sa iba. And the reasons I didn’t see that as an opportunity to give value is that, Parang wala siyang kwenta for me kasi nga wala namang challenge sa’kin. “Kaya din nila ’yun!” I used to think. Hindi pala. 😅 Now, I believe there’s an audience for everyone who has something to share. So before you judge yourself the same things over and over again until it actually becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy… Try mo muna. You never know how life-changing your insights can be to people who need to hear them. Keep pursuing lang what you feel aligned doing kasi baka nand’yan na ‘yung hinihintay mong breakthrough. 😊 Rooting for you, Mark Darwin Balaswit P.S.
