Watch the award-winning film Abundance to learn more about The Farmlink Project [View in Browser]() [TONY ROBBINS]() "Identify your problems, but give your power and energy to solutions." - Tony Robbins {NAME}, What does it take to turn the impossible into possible? For a group of university students, the answer was closing the gaps between food insecurity, food waste and climate change... And the results were more impactful than anyone could have imagined. As restaurants and businesses closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of pounds of produce were wasted on farms. Unemployment increased the number of people facing food insecurity and food banks struggled to keep up. That’s when The Farmlink Project was born. These students saw an opportunity during a time of great crisis and used their creativity, caring and resourcefulness to create a solution from their dorm rooms. Together, they began calling hundreds of farms. And in less than five days, they delivered 50,000 pounds of produce from small grassroots donations. [DSC_3227 (1).jpeg] Since then, The Farmlink Project has expanded nationally through the work of over 600 volunteers and a team of professionals who move over 1,000,000 pounds of produce per week. By locating surplus and unmarketable food and connecting it with food banks and community organizations fighting hunger, they’re not only solving hunger but also fighting climate change by reducing the emissions from food waste. Tony was one of the first contributors to The Farmlink Project during the pandemic. While hosting the Forbes Iconoclast Impact Day at the renowned New York Stock Exchange this past June, Tony met one of the founding members, Ben Collier, who shared The Farmlink Project’s story, shining a bigger spotlight on their innovations. In recognition of their extraordinary work, The Farmlink Project’s founding members went on to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Goalkeepers Award. You can learn more now about their remarkable story when you watch Abundance – an award-winning documentary that follows The Farmlink's Project national movement to help end hunger in the United States. [Watch Abundance: The Farmlink Story]() This short documentary world premiered in front of Congress and has been screened at over 50+ in-person film festivals, conferences, schools and events. Its purpose is to drive awareness of solving food insecurity and waste. Tony and The Tony Robbins Foundation are proud to support The Farmlink Project’s efforts in providing funds to help rescue food and provide it directly to food banks across the country. The work of these students reminds us that impact is never a matter of resources – but it’s always a matter of resourcefulness. And when we work together, we can find solutions to help those facing hunger, protect our environment and be a force for good in our communities. Be a blessing!
