January 2023 Tom Peters Times In this issue: People First! Book Design January Interviews People First! Team Tom has had an amazing time creating this latest poster for you. In lieu of translation apps and AI, we reached out to friends, family, and colleagues to get this critical message translated into over 30 languages. It truly took a community of people—going back and forth about nuanced meanings of words—to pull these translations together. People First! is a beautiful reminder of what matters most as you pursue life and career goals. A reminder to, as Tom puts it: - Deeply and passionately care about and abet people's holistic development and success - Create uplifting products and services that bring no less than joy into our lives - Pay unstinting attention to details, knowing that small and continuous incremental improvements can add up to game-changing moments - Recognize the power of emotional intelligence and that the soft skills are the hardest skills to develop and the most important skills over the long haul Download Poster Book Design Tom has been captivated, captured, and obsessed with design for 35+ years: “I see aesthetic sensibility and emotionally engaging experiences as far and away, not ‘the best defense against’, but ‘the best offense for’ confronting—even mastering—the likes of the looming AI incursion. Design by my lights is ‘humanism,’ pure and simple.” Design is so important that Tom asked Nancye Green, the designer of Tom Peters' Compact Guide to Excellence, to become his coauthor. Here is what they say about the impact of the book's design: [Nancye, how does the design help the message?]( Nancye discusses her design of The Compact Guide [Tom, what do you love about the design of *Tom Peters' Compact Guide to Excellence*?]( Tom shares what he loves about the design as well January Interviews Listen to Tom's latest interviews on empathy and Excellence: - Henry Stewart's new podcast Happy Manifesto with Maureen Egbe: [The magic of leadership is empathy, with Tom Peters]( - On Brand with Nick Westergaard: [Excellence in the New Year with Tom Peters]( [Website]( [LinkedIn]( [Twitter]( Copyright © 2023 Tom Peters Company, All rights reserved.
