The Latest [Police arrested a 'violent repeat offender' suspected in the murder of the young tech CEO in Baltimore.]( Following a three-day manhunt, Baltimore police [arrested the man suspected of killing 26-year-old tech CEO]( Pava LaPere, a U.S. Marshal confirmed to NBC affiliate WBAL early this morning. Suspect Jason Billingsley, 32, was [apprehended at a train station]( in Bowie, Maryland, the U.S. Marshal said. Billingsley, who was also wanted in connection with an unrelated attempted murder, arson and rape earlier this month, had been wanted on a first-degree murder warrant in the killing of LaPere, the CEO and founder of the startup EcoMap Technologies. Billingsley is a ârepeat violent offender,â Baltimore City Stateâs Attorney Ivan J. Bates said at a news conference. Authorities haven't identified any connection between LaPere and Billingsley. Social Security checks will continue to go out, while national parks are at the risk of being closed or not staffed. TSA employees are considered essential and have to work through a shutdown, but there could be [more delays at airports]( and in processing passport applications.
