Gina Pellettiere, 43, the band director, and Beatrice Ferrari, 77, a longtime Farmingdale High School teacher, died in the crash, which New York Gov. But she got a blood test just to be safe, and the results led to Gutierrez being diagnosed with [acute lymphoblastic leukemia.]( Now she's hospitalized in Crete and unable to travel because it's too dangerous for her to fly. “The shocking thing was (they said), 'You cannot leave because you will hemorrhage,'" she told TODAY.com.
