The Latest [Five suspected shark attacks occurred in a two-day span in New York this week.]( Five people were [bitten by sharks]( or what officials believe to be sharks in separate incidents throughout New York this week. A 15-year-old boy surfing in Fire Island was [bitten on his heel and toes]( on Monday, while a girl the same age was attacked by an unknown animal in Babylon, although drones indicated images of sharks in the water. On Tuesday, a man in Quogue was bitten on his knee by what police called âa larger marine animal,â and another swimmer in Fire Island was bitten on his hand by a shark. A few hours later, a woman in Fire Island was also believed to be bitten. Shark sightings have [also occurred in Florida]( this week, although no attacks were reported. [ð Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo defended their titles at the Nathanâs Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.]( Joey Chestnut emerged as the âweinerâ of the annual Nathanâs Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4 in Coney Island, New York, [scarfing down 62 hot dogs]( in 10 minutes. Itâs his 16th title in 17 years and came after pouring rain and lightning delayed the contest for two hours. Miki Sudo took home the title in the womenâs field by [chowing down 39.5 dogs]( in 10 minutes. âI still have hot dog in my teeth,â Sudo told ESPN after her win, her ninth career victory at the famed contest. [𩺠A man with a bump on his neck for months discovered it was cancer caused by HPV]([.]( Glenn Moog, of Columbus, Ohio, spotted a [small bump on his neck]( after having sinus problems. Five months later, he went to his doctor, only to learn he had stage 4 cancer [caused by HPV](, the human papilloma virus, on the base of his tongue. Moog became cancer free following treatment, but his case highlights how doctors have seen an increase among [head and neck cancers]( caused by HPV.
