The declaration from Dr. Rahul Gupta requires the Biden administration to develop a federal response plan in 90 days. Xylazine is not approved for human use, and people who inject it can develop flesh wounds, including blackened, rotting tissue, according to the DEA. “We must act and act now," Gupta said on a conference call with reporters. Tupperware still has more than $1 billion in global sales, but reported a loss of $28.4 million in the most recent quarter.
