Plus, remembering rapper Coolio, Katie Couric's breast cancer diagnosis, and everything you need to know about our Start TODAY Walking Club.   THE LATEST [Hurricane Ian leaves more than 2 million without power in Florida and causes life-threatening storm surges.]( Hurricane Ian was [downgraded to a tropical storm]( this morning after making landfall on the western coast of Florida as a Category 4 hurricane yesterday. The storm [caused massive flooding]( while knocking out power to more than 2.4 million people, and is believed to be one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded to hit Florida. ["Catastrophic" flooding]( is expected to continue near major rivers in parts of central Florida today, according to the National Weather Service. The storm is expected to move up the Atlantic coast to Georgia and South Carolina. [You can track it here](. [🎤 Coolio, the Grammy-winning rapper of "Gangsta's Paradise," is dead at 59.]( Coolio, the rapper who won a Grammy for the 1995 hit "Gangsta's Paradise," [died after 59]( after being found unresponsive at a Los Angeles home yesterday, according to his manager, Jarez Posey. He said the rapper (real name Artis Leon Ivey Jr.) is believed to have suffered a heart attack, but an official cause of death is unknown. Coolio [released 8 albums]( and topped the Billboard Hot 100 with "Gangsta's Paradise." [The song's video](, featuring Michelle Pfeiffer from the movie "Dangerous Minds," was arguably one of the most memorable of the '90s. It won Best Rap Video at the MTV VMAs in 1996 and also [topped 1 billion views on YouTube]( last month. [Katie Couric reveals she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and had a lumpectomy.]( The former TODAY anchor shared yesterday that she was [diagnosed with breast cancer]( in June and has undergone a [lumpectomy]( and radiation treatments. Couric, 65, shared her journey in a first-person essay in which she described her fears and having to tell her daughters about her diagnosis. She also encouraged women to get their regular checkups. "Please get your annual mammogram," she wrote. "I was six months late this time. I shudder to think what might have happened if I had put it off longer."
