New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser have asked the federal government for help with thousands of migrants from the Mexican border who have been [sent there on buses by the governors of Texas and Arizona]( since early this month. Texas [Gov. Greg Abbott said Friday]( the state has sent more than 7,000 migrants to Washington since April and [nearly a thousand to New York City]( since Aug. 5. Bowser has requested help from the National Guard, while Adams has also asked for assistance. Congressional Democrats are calling it a political stunt, while Republicans have argued it's a last resort. [One of the deadliest forms of cervical cancer is on the rise, and there's 'no easy explanation' why]( The rate of [late-stage cervical cancer is on the rise]( in the U.S., with the steepest increases in white women, although the prevalence of the disease is still highest in Black women, a new study finds. An analysis of 30,000 women diagnosed with advanced disease found that advanced adenocarcinoma has [increased at nearly twice the rate in white women]( as in Black women, but [Black women had a prevalence rate nearly 60% higher]( than white women. “Unfortunately, there’s no easy explanation for how this can be improved," a fourth-year OB-GYN resident at UCLA told us.
