Let me tell you why     Friends -- I want to talk about why I’m running for re-election to the U.S. Senate. Throughout my life, I’ve been honored to serve people as a missionary, civil rights lawyer, and elected official at the local, state, and federal levels. I love the Commonwealth and its citizens, and I want to keep being your Senator. [There’s a lot of work to do over the next year and a half to keep our Commonwealth blue up and down the ballot, so right now, I’d like to ask you to become a Founding Donor to my campaign. I’d be very grateful for whatever support you can give.]( Look, we’ve accomplished a lot together these last few years: ✅ We lowered the costs of both health care and energy with the Inflation Reduction Act. ✅ We made the biggest commitment to infrastructure since the Interstate Highway system initiative in the Eisenhower Administration with the bipartisan infrastructure bill. ✅ We brought back American manufacturing jobs with the CHIPS Act. ✅ We protected marriage equality with the Respect for Marriage Act. ✅ We passed the first major federal legislation in decades that will tackle the scourge of gun violence. But there's so much still to be done. We need more skilled workers, so we should invest in technical training, provide more affordable, high-quality child care, and find a path to a work-based immigration reform bill. We need to expand access to mental health services, to battle addiction, and bring down health care costs for all. We need to fight for fundamental liberties, including the freedom to make our own reproductive decisions and the right to vote. Virginia’s natural beauty -- air, water, open space -- needs protection from threats, including climate change. And in a world with threats to democracies at home and abroad, we need a national security strategy that keeps us safe while building up the capacity of the U.S. and our allies to link arms against global threats of all kinds. But here’s the thing -- all those challenges don’t discourage me from this work. In fact, they are exactly why I’m running to keep representing Virginia in the U.S. Senate. As your Senator, I will deliver for ALL Virginians, listen to your thoughts and concerns, and work across the aisle to solve the problems that keep us up at night. Because in a divided government, we need to work with Democrats and Republicans to get things done. This isn’t going to be easy. Virginia is a battleground state with a Republican governor, and special interests are going to spend massively to try and block progress in our Commonwealth. I have to ask: [Will you donate to my campaign so I can keep delivering for ALL Virginians and protect our Senate majority?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [DONATE $25]( [DONATE $50]( [DONATE $100]( [DONATE $250]( We’ve got a big fight ahead of us, and we can’t take a single thing for granted. I know from years of having you by my side that this grassroots team can make an incredible difference when we stand up and work together. We can protect our Democratic majority in the Senate, we can help elect more Democrats all the way down the ballot throughout the Commonwealth, and we can secure victories for Virginians and all Americans. [Please make a donation today to help kick off my campaign for re-election so we can continue to lead with solutions, not stunts.]( Thanks for all your support and guidance over the years. The best part of my job is being anywhere in Virginia -- listening to you, brainstorming solutions to challenging problems, being inspired by your efforts, and occasionally inflicting mediocre harmonica playing on tolerant audiences! I hope to earn your support once again to battle for Virginia priorities, champion American innovation, and defend democracy and human rights across the globe. Thanks so much -- let’s get to work!
