Women’s freedom is under attack. I’m fighting back. Are you with me?

    Friends, Women’s freedom is under attack -- period. From last June’s Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade, to the more recent and ongoing legal battle around the safe and effective abortion medication called mifepristone, to the full abortion bans in effect in 14 states across the country -- there is no question that the right to make reproductive decisions is deteriorating for millions of people. We must restore and protect women’s ability to make their own health care decisions in Virginia and nationwide. We need to codify the rights established by Roe by passing the Reproductive Freedom for All Act, and we’ve got to pass more provisions, like the Protecting Access to Medication Abortion Act, to ensure safe medication like mifepristone stays accessible. I’m going to do everything I can in the Senate to push these important pieces of legislation forward. But it’s about more than reproductive health care. It’s about fundamental freedoms. If Republicans retake control of the Senate next November, they will try to pass a national abortion ban -- we know this. Reproductive freedoms are on the ballot. But the truth is, MAGA Republicans want one thing, at the core of all these issues: to restrict and control women. So it’s not just reproductive freedom on the ballot -- it’s women’s choice, women’s freedom, and women’s autonomy writ large.
