*|MC_PREVIEW_TEXT|* 1 IN 4 HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS IN ISRAEL LIVE IN POVERTY AND FEEL LONELY SHOW THEM THAT THEY ARE NOT ALONE BY SENDING THEM A FOOD BOX FOR THE HIGH HOLIDAYS [DONATE A HOLIDAY FOOD BOX]( Yehudit, 94, a Holocaust survivor, is one of the thousands of seniors who recieve monthly assistance from Latet throughout the year. For many seniors, our holiday assistance is no less than vital. It allows them to use their limited resources toward other critical expenses which they would otherwise not be able to afford. A bit more than a week from now, we will all sit around the holiday table and celebrate the beginning of the Jewish New Year, but despite the festive atmosphere, thousands of elderly people in Israel, pioneers who built this country, will yet spend another holiday alone. Year long, Latet - the largest Israeli NGO combating poverty - provides food assistance to populations in need and extensively expands these efforts toward the High Holidays. Due to the increasing cost of living in the country, we receive hundreds of additional requests for assistance at this time of the year. Start the year with a Mitzvah! Your gift will help us bring thousands of families and senior citizens a food box and give them the opportunity to celebrate the High Holidays with joy. Specifically for Holocaust survivors, the Holiday food boxes also contain gefilte fish, honey, and honey cookies. We're doing everything we can to to make their lives a bit sweeter.
