We're thrilled to share with you the first episode of a new Times of Israel original documentary video series: 'Into the Land' In 'Into the Land' we explore a topic in each of three fields － environment, archeology and Jewish/Arab relations － to illuminate both the complexity of that story and the deeper issues it reveals about Israeli society and culture. This first episode in the series is entitled ['Dead Sea Walking']( and addresses the state of the Dead Sea, which has shrunk by half since 1976. We explore why this natural wonder is declining, why so little is being done about it, and what it all has to do with a manufacturing conglomerate that is reluctant to pay taxes.
