Sponsored Advertisement Rescue Campaign Update (March 13, 2022): There are pregnant women with small children who escaped through the woods and now homeless with nothing but the clothes on their backs. There are suffering orphans being transported from one location to another scattered throughout several hotels and camps. There are refugees waiting hungry and freezing at the border, in unimaginable conditions, begging to get to a safe place! We must help keep them alive! Please help us to continue saving lives! [Donate here]( Dear friends, brothers, and sisters! My name is Rabbi Avraham Wolf, and I am writing to you directly from Odessa, Ukraine. I am appealing to your compassionate heart with a broken and tormented heart. For 40 years, I have been the chief rabbi of the Jewish community of Odessa. Before the war, our community boasted over 35,000 Jews. We built an orphanage here with over 120 orphans and a nursing home that houses hundreds of elderly Jews, most of them Holocaust survivors. Most of them managed to escape with only the shirts on their backs. Many went from riches to rags as the once-wealthy are now homeless. They left everything behind and could not take anything with them. The money they had in the bombed-out banks no longer exists, and they are unable to withdraw anything from the ATMs that were already emptied by police long before the war began. We have already rescued the orphans in a hazardous operation. I stayed here with a small team who are risking their lives for those who have not yet been able or could not escape from here. But now, in light of the worsening and uncontrollable situation, we must urgently transport hundreds of elderly and patients in need of evacuation. They will not survive here! [Donate here]( Hunger is already being felt throughout the country. Supply has come to a halt, and the supermarkets are already closed because they no longer have anything to sell. Any food delivery that comes close to the border is already immediately confiscated. Inside the country, the situation is entirely catastrophic! Aside from the daily shelling and chaos that reigns here, there is also hunger and acts of looting, robbery, and battles between people over food and bread. The danger increases here from moment to moment. The shelling is very severe. The shelters are not safe enough, and God forbid – innocent people may be buried underneath them! We must get the whole community out of here! This is a desperate cry from a broken and tormented heart! I am not even talking about the 40 years of labor I invested in this once thriving community that was erased before my eyes in a few days. I am talking about human life! I’m talking about parents of children who, God forbid, could become orphans! I’m talking about refugees who lost everything they own. We must keep helping them! I can not leave the country until I know I have rescued my entire beloved community from this inferno! I beg you! Please help us save more lives! We need a lot of money for all this, and time is running out! Please do not leave us alone! Please do not abandon us to our fate! PLEASE HELP!
