I spent much of the weekend wandering around various aisles in the pharmacy and the grocery store and getting my “ducks in a row” as they say. I would love to have some ducks to put in a row. Can someone tell me what the process would be for acquiring ducks as pets in New York City and get me in touch with—Nevermind, a quick Google search has confirmed my worst fear. Ducks are illegal to have as pets in New York City. I could legally get a chicken, a chinchilla, a horse, or some honeybees. It actually seems way more inappropriate for me to be keeping a bunch of honeybees in my apartment, and a duck could just live in a little house in my kitchen, but what do I know? Let’s get this short week going. We’ve got a list of some of the most beautiful places in the world you’ve never heard of, tips on the best ways to enjoy cottage cheese, a new Tron roller coaster at Disney, cannabis lounges opening up at various hotels, and tips for how to overcome your fear of flying. It’s the last day of Mercury retrograde, so I have to go hide out till it goes direct (just in case it’s real), [Ned Riseley, Senior Copywriter]( [ [( travel [] [The Most Overlooked Beautiful Places in the World]( We all know about the heavy hitters when it comes to beautiful places around the world, and I don’t have anything against the Seven Wonders of the World. That being said, I think we found some beautiful, lesser-known spots that will open your eyes and your mind in new ways. From the “Forest of Knives” in Madagascar to Deception Island in Antarctica, where you can sail into a volcano (sounds fun!) to the gorgeous turquoise opening of an underwater cenote in the Bahamas called “Dean’s Blue Hole,” these are some glorious locales that are as visually stunning and otherworldly as they are off the beaten path. These places “aren’t like other girls,” and we love that. [] [Beauty is all around us]( [( [( food & drink [] [Cottage Cheese Is Having Its First Moment Since the 1980s]( The two words, “cottage cheese,” sound innocent enough, yet the concept itself is enough to send many into hiding, including myself. I’ve never had so much as a spoonful of cottage cheese in my life. Why? Fear? Fear of pleasure? I’ll happily eat a ball of mozzarella as though it were a newly ripened apple, yet cottage cheese terrifies me. And, frankly, it shouldn’t. The simple curd cheese is yummy, versatile, and harkens back to a simpler time of leg warmers and soft focus photographs of an aging Elizabeth Taylor taken in 1987. With the return to real dairy, TikTokers and civilians alike are once again reaching for the cottage cheese, and we’re getting to the bottom of why. [] [Cottagecore]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( travel [] [The Disney ‘Tron’ Roller Coaster Opens in April]( Speaking of the 1980s, did you know that there is going to be a new Tron roller coaster at Disney? Yes, now you can pretend you’re Jeff Bridges in the original, or Jeff Bridges in the new one, or just be yourself, on an incredible new roller coaster opening in April at Disney. It’s one of the fastest ever and it’s very similar to the Tron rise at Disneyland Shanghai, if that rings any bells. The Patterson Inn in Denver is introducing a cannabis lounge, where guests at the 9-bedroom bed and breakfast can safely enjoy some herb and get to know other guests. I wonder if this will become more of a thing at hotels around the country, as legalization continues. What’ll they think of next? Shroom service?! I’m getting a real kick out of the hypothetical idea of a nice, square couple who didn’t read the fine print checking in to this bed and breakfast and trying to navigate a totally chilled out breakfast bar with their lower key companions. Could be fun! [] [Room service]( [( [ [] [Sign Up for Next Flight Out]( [] [Food and drink]( travel travel [Ready for Takeoff?
