I hope you’re having a better week than the woman I saw at the bodega in my neighborhood yesterday who was furtively whispering into her phone near the soup, “I didn’t ruin Christmas, Lillian. We’ll talk about it when I get home.” I’m cutting out snowflakes and hanging them on every available wall in my apartment, so that at first glance it looks like I’m a detective, my walls covered with research about my latest case. What did you guys get me for Christmas? A basket of fruit? A hot sauce subscription? Don’t tell me. Well, give me a hint, but a really obscure one! I didn’t get you anything, but that’s because I have a lot of stories for you and that’s the greatest gift of all. Today is all about Thailand and spicy pasta and escape rooms and Airbnb crackdowns on New Year’s parties (uh oh), and of course, without further ado: holiday cocktail kits. My how the time flies when you’re having fun! I have to get the figgy pudding out of the oven and force it on my neighbors. [-Ned Riseley, Senior Copywriter]( [ [( travel [] [A Thailand Travelogue]( Itching to visit Thailand? Have a trip already lined up? Just want to live vicariously through someone else’s travel adventures without having to pack or do any of the work? Whatever category you fall into, you will love this tour of Thailand, with its in-depth look at delicious street food, ancient temples, glamorous hotels, and trails filled with monkeys (you read that right). You’ll fall in love with Thailand—the Emerald Pools, the colorful palaces, the teakwood houses—just by reading. [] [Learn more]( [( [( Food & drink [] [The ‘Pasta Queen’ of TikTok Shares Her Pan-Fried Calabrian Chile Spaghetti]( Nadia Caterina Munno is the “Pasta Queen” of TikTok, and her loyal fans would agree that every pasta delight she whips up is “just gorgeous” (her catchphrase). Well, now she has a cookbook, and one of the most iconic recipes in it is the Assassin’s Spaghetti, a dramatic Puglian, spicy spaghetti that incorporates Calabrian chile flakes, Pinocchio’s nose peppers, and a whole lot of tomato broth. It’s an acidic, spicy treat that could turn a cold, drab December night into a dramatic Southern Italian romance. [] [Just gorgeous]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( travel [] [‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Jurassic World’ Escape Rooms? Lock Me Up!]( I have never been in an escape room, but I have thought that it would be fun to throw a birthday party in one and just hang out (i.e. live in the moment/not try to escape). I don’t have the strongest escape logic/survival instinct, so I’m not sure I’d be much help in an escape room, though I would try to make it fun for everyone. If you are into that sort of thing, I think you’ll be excited to hear that there are brand new Back to the Future and Jurassic World escape rooms coming to Universal Studios. Does that mean that in the Jurassic Park one you’re in there with a velociraptor? I love when the stakes are high! The company is cracking down on using the home-sharing service to throw parties. Airbnb will be posting a cranky older gentleman outside each of its homes to yell at the guests to “quiet down!” every hour on the hour, making it completely impossible to throw a rager. I’m only joking; that’s not how they do it.
