If anything, I want someone to come to my house and get rid of everything that’s taking up unnecessary space. Can Santa come by with a paper shredder and a box of matches and Marie Kondo my house? I know Marie Kondo’s probably busy, but maybe Santa has some availability after the 25th. Not that I’m a hoarder or anything, but I could stand to be a little more organized. I suppose what I want for Christmas is a new temperament, the kind that doesn’t get overwhelmed by the prospect of doing some personal organization, but then, maybe I’m getting into New Year’s Resolution territory, and I’d hate to get ahead of myself. In that case, all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, and a rent-stabilized apartment downtown that’s near the action, but quiet, and has a clawfoot tub that isn’t in the kitchen. Is that too much to ask? So be it. Today in the newsletter, we’ve got all kinds of gifts and resolutions. I’ve got a list of unforgettably epic Alaskan activities, I’ve got the best holiday items at Trader Joe’s, I’ve got new routes from JetBlue and American Airlines, I’ve got the inside scoop on how they found the hotel for Season 2 of The White Lotus, and I’ve got the most anticipated hotel openings of 2023. What a time to be alive! If you’ll excuse me, I have to go caroling alone. It’s really intimidating and no one wants it, but it’s important for the collective Christmas spirit of the city. [-Ned Riseley, Senior Copywriter]( [ [( travel [] [Your Own Team of Huskies, Geodesic Igloos, and Hydrotherapy in Alaska]( Alaska is a wild and giant state, with so much natural beauty and majestic wonder, it’s hard to know where to begin. Here are some ideas for incredible activities to partake in if you happen to be visiting The Last Frontier. I am ready to board the Alaska Railroad and stare out the window while drinking a hot toddy, scanning the landscape for moose. Sign me up for a trip to the heated pool at Alyeska Nordic Spa, or a trip to one of the various heritage centers dedicated to indigenous history. I would even consider going on an 11-day dog sledding adventure, if someone could assure me that dogs are good listeners. Maybe it’s finally time to try my hand at curling…. [] [Mush!]( [( [( Food & drink [] [Nothing Says Holiday Spirit Like Mini Gingerbread People from Trader Joe’s]( Here are all our favorite holiday treats from Trader Joe’s, from mini gingerbread people to a special Trader Joe’s panettone to some English Toffee with Nuts. I’m going to be honest, there’s a lot of Italian food on the list, but I would trust the Italians to do holiday food well, so this is a win for TJ. Plus, if you’re a real glutton for punishment and you’re not quite over it, you could get some kettle chips that are flavored like Thanksgiving stuffing. Wow. [] [Joe knows]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( travel [] [A Bevy of New Routes for JetBlue and American Airlines]( Have you always wanted to fly from LaGuardia to the Bahamas? What about LaGuardia to Buffalo? Boston to Vancouver? JetBlue and American Airlines just announced their plans to expand their routes in the coming year, so check out the new list of destinations and get to planning that trip. Apparently, the team looked all around the Mediterranean before they settled on Sicily at this converted 14th century Dominican convent, where D.H. Lawrence apparently got inspired to write Lady Chatterley's Lover back when. Check out this chat with the show’s creators and learn more about the fascinating history of this special slice of Southern Italy. [] [Andiamo]( [( [( travel [] [Speaking of Hotels: The Most Anticipated Hotel Openings of 2023]( When the White Lotus hotel is all booked up, you’ll need some ideas for novelty vacations. Here are all the most anticipated hotel openings of 2023, from the Hotel La Palma in Capri to a 1 Hotel in Kauai to the art’otel in London. The elegant macrame on the wall at the 1 Hotel in Kauai is truly out of this world, and all these hotels promise to give you a little taste of adventure and luxury all at once. Take me with you!
