I am still waking up from an impenetrably deep sleep, and no amount of coffee, plant medicine that I bought in SoHo for too much money, phone abstinence, and wake-up YouTube yoga is able to make me feel like I am awake yet. Maybe it has something to do with the “triple dip La Niña” that is taking place in the Pacific Ocean. Don’t ask me to explain. Am I experiencing my own personal “triple dip La Niña”? We will have to call in a scientist before I make any official proclamations. In case you hadn’t noticed, I am not really much of a scientist. Today’s headlines are sure to perk me up! From an Irish castle that is a rock ‘n roll paradise to an Old Fashioned that might be best enjoyed at the Big Sur bar where it originates (but that is just as tasty when you make it at home) to a chat with the founders of the iconic Brooklyn drag festival Bushwig to a new “stellar nursery” that’s been spotted by the James Webb Space Telescope, all the way to our favorite luggage for weekend trips. I’m so grateful to have encountered the phrase “stellar nursery” this morning, as it is a much better aspirational metaphor for my current sleepy state than “triple dip La Niña.” [-Ned Riseley, Senior Copywriter]( [ [( travel [] [The Irish Rock ‘n’ Roll Castle of Your Dreams]( There is a castle in Ireland, perhaps you’ve heard of it. The Slane Castle hosts some of the best rock concerts around, and the vibe is full-on magical. You haven’t lived until you’ve lounged on the kelly green lawns of Slane Castle, built in 1703 and sung along to “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles. Here, rock history and Irish history meet.. [] [Rock the castle]( [( [( food & drink [] [Smoked, Not Stirred: The Iconic Sierra Mar Old Fashioned]( This Old Fashioned is smoked, which gives it a special je ne sais quoi that is, in a word, smoky. Plus, it originated at an iconic bar in Big Sur, at a luxury lodge nestled in the clouds. Sierra Mar is the restaurant and bar at the glamorous Post Ranch Inn and it is a hot spot for celebrity sightings and glorious views of the central California landscape. We spoke with Reylon Agustin, the ranch’s culinary director, and he shared his recipe for the Smoked Old Fashioned. Get your smoking tray and bell jar ready. [] [Call me old fashioned…]( [( *Sponsored Ads List [( entertainment [] [Horrorchata and Babes La Beija Talk About How Bushwig Has Evolved]( Bushwig is the Brooklyn drag festival that has been going on for over 10 years, and we had the pleasure of talking to its founders, Horrorchata and Babes LaBeija, about how it’s evolved since then. Bushwig has come a long way since its beginnings, but its founders are quick to assure us that they are still the “punk rock bitches” they have always been. It includes an image of the Tarantula Nebula, a “stellar nursery” that is just a quick 161,000 light-years from Earth. Let us walk you through the images and let you know about all the stargazing opportunities this month. [] [Thank your lucky stars]( [( [( travel [] [Our Favorite Weekend Luggage]( If you’re not a really unintuitive overpacker like me (it is an affliction I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemies), you’re good at packing for a quick weekend excursion. Do you have the right luggage, though? Look at these bags that will truly elevate your weekending. There’s even a Stella McCartney fanny pack.
