I am running errands and cleaning today like a true Boss Baby. There is so much dust everywhere, at all times, just in case you forgot. But I am handling it. I am ascending and becoming my highest self, aka crawling around in my bathroom scrubbing every tile and praying to the Lord God that this will be the last time I have to clean. This will be the one to finally, permanently clean my life. But of course, it isn’t. Cleaning is just like working out; you have to keep doing it. It’s a complete trap. But we must beat on, boats against the current or whatever. That’s a reference to The Great Gatsby, a book that every jock at my high school liked because it was about parties and getting rich as hell. Maybe they didn’t get to the end, the part when Gatsby gets shot in his own pool (spoiler alert). I like The Great Gatsby fine, but for me it’s less a book about parties than it is about mean, female golfers (Jordan Baker) and the silent men who try to love them (Nick Carraway). Okay, before I go full AP English, I’m gonna turn it over to the headlines. We have Nashville! We have non-dairy ice cream! We have ramen and Juneteenth! We have Southwest Airlines! We have queer-owned New York businesses! It’s fresh, it’s fun, it’s foxy. You’re gonna lap it up like a cat with a dish of the finest grassfed cow milk. I’ll be with you again tomorrow, once I’ve finished polishing all my silverware and all that. I hope you have a great Thursday. Bye! [ [( travel [] [Creature Camp, Hula Hoop Nashville, and Phat Bites! Oh My!]( Nashville is a magical place full of culture, good food, incredible music, and a great bar scene. It’s also the place where they film one of the strangest reality shows I’ve ever seen, Marriage or Mortgage, but that’s beside the point. Read this list of all the amazing things to do in the city where Tim McGraw and Faith Hill live. [] [Keep calm and stay country]( [( [( food & drink [] [Something for the Non-Dairy Queens]( I’m sure you’ve heard by now that there are a lot of ice creams that aren’t even made with dairy. It’s pretty shocking, I know, but Thrillist has done some research to see what the best ones are. Fear not, lactose intolerants and vegans alike! We have you covered! It’ll be like you never had to give up dairy! There is even a brand called “NadaMoo!” What a dream. [] [No milk for you!]( [( [( food & drink [] [Rasheeda Purdie Is Celebrating Juneteenth with Some Delicious Ramen]( Rasheeda Purdie is a woman of many talents. She is a stylist-turned-chef and a fixture of the NYC food world, as the owner of Ramen by Rā. To celebrate Juneteenth, Purdie is creating a unique ramen experience, “Roots + Ramen,” fusing culture for some delicious results. Read this article to learn more about her fascinating story and her approach to cooking delicious ramen dishes. [] [Ramen!]( [( [( news [] [Southwest Is Giving You HALF OFF for the Fall]( That’s right, this fall you can get 50% off to fly... basically anywhere, if you book through Southwest. The offer is for flights between September 15 and November 3, and the promotion ends… TODAY, so you’d better get on it and fast! Go go go!!! Spin the globe and pick a destination! [] [Fall getaway!]( [( [( shopping [] [The Queer-Owned NYC Businesses You Should Be Shopping Right Now]( In honor of Pride, Thrillist has compiled a list of some of our favorite queer-owned businesses in the Big Apple. Whether you’re looking for some clothes, shoes, jewelry, lipstick, books, gifts, or a good old-fashioned sex toy, take a look! I never go to Astoria, but now that I know about the gifts at Lockwood, I’m gonna have to check it out.
